Ten Things of Thankful
I was tech challenged last week and missed the deadline to submit to the TTOT linkup. I was so disappointed as I had everything set to publish and WordPress glitchy bugs “ate” my post. I was to upset even attempt it again from the app so I jusy let it go to a live and learn situation. Now I write this while my phone is being updated and I uploaded 4,000 + pictures onto my laptop. Anyone else out there that uses their smart phone like a photo album? A really bad habit I need to break and get these pictures, memories, and digital data onto a disk and print them off for actual photo albums.so let’s get back to the real reason I’m here, to spread that thankful love around ?β€οΈ
1. I’m thankful for conquering my fear and attending a publishing seminar last weekend. I learned so much and I’m excited to get my book written. Stay tuned as I’ll be publishing a word counter on my blog for accountability and encouragement sake.
2.I’m thankful for warm summer nights, watching the stars in the sky and cuddling with my son’s.
3. I’m thankful for shaking hands with my fear and doing whatever I was scared of. I learn so much about myself in these teaching moments in life
4. I’m thankful for making new friends and putting myself out there to learn, explore, and yet feeling vulnerable at the same time.
5. I’m thankful that these happy feet got to go golfing and also was able to teach my youngest how to golf. My oldest is a very talented athlete and golf cones naturally to him. As soon as my youngest could connect with the ball and make it got the look of pure joy on his face was a beautiful sight.
7. I’m thankful for having more patience, energy, and ambition to continue on with my fitness goals I recently signed up to be a Beach Body coach. I have learned so much about myself and my hidden tank of tenacity for inner and outer strength that it was a perfect fit. And after losing 15 lbs, and 15 inches all over I have to celebrate it by becoming part of an amazing team with YYC Game Changers. ?
9. I’m thankful for hot summer days and spending time at the water park and playground with friends I know soon enough the chill of autumn will be in the air soon enough, so I never complain about the heat.
10. I’m thankful that I was able to participate in Lizzi’s lovely TTOT linkup and I look forward to reading all the wonderful crew who linked up ?
I’m thankful you published this lovely post. So nice.
Awe Chris thank you so much, me too. ?
“Shaking hands with my fear”…I might be stealing this expression at some point.
15lb and 15 inches?! Go you! π
Thank you so much Vince! I think changing my perspective about fear based things has helped most of all. Fear can be life changing and change your life. But making it more if a friend an ally instead of something that takes over and controls my life has been the game changer for me. As for the weight loss it feels good to be lighter and stronger. ?
It does. doesn’t it? Sadly, in my case I am losing weight everywhere except my boobs.
*listens for sound of women playing violins for my struggle*
*watches tumbleweed drift by*
Never mind. π
Oh Vince you make me giggle the struggle is real! All I had to do was have and feed my babies and goodbye awesome rack. We need an orchestra to play us a ballad with Alana Morissette singing You outta know. ?
My boobs GREW after breastfeeding and then KEPT ON GROWING. Bloody stupid bags of flesh hanging off my ribcage and ruining my manly silhouette.
Do you hate me yet? π
A little bit, no I’m just kidding I’m too polite to hate or even utter the word. I loved my pregnant and nourishing boobs I should’ve had them encased in plaster to remember them fondly. ?
I used to use mine as milk guns! π
Bahaha got milk, the force is strong with you oh dairy bar. ?
It was good fun, for sure! π
I can imagine, my husband would tease me and say I could make paralyzer shots, a few squirts at a time. ?
It’s even better when you add “Pyowng pyowng’ sound effects with each ‘bullet’!
It’s the best with sounds affects. Die storm troopers die the force is strong in these milk guns. ??
Hahaha! I never thought I would be able to have this conversation with someone who gets it! π
I know right I haven’t talked or typed about my “milkshakes” bringing the boys to the yard in a long time! By boys meaning my son’s because I called them my boob juice junkies. ?
Thanks – I am going to have that song in my head for days now! π
I am glad you were able to write your TToT post, whether or not it made the linkup! π
I always feel such Joy sharing what on thankful for. It’s truly been so life changing for me, so to miss a week makes me feel sad. I’m so happy that the tech issues were put to rest and I was able to participate this time. ?
It sounds as if you’re enjoying the more leisurely pace of summer! It is a pleasant thing to have those longer days. Even if you’re doing all the same things as you would in the winter it just feels like there is more time in the summer.
It’s so true Vanessa, there’s such an appreciation for those long hot summer nights. ?
Precious time spent with your sons and a literary high to top it all off.
:-)Love it.
Thank you so much it’s those moments in life that make me feel truly alive that mean the most! ?
Wow Jeanine, you seem like you’re having a great summer, good on you! I don’t know if you have seen this but the Canadian in you might appreciate it. https://80smetalman.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/01/great-metal-albums-of-1982-anvil-metal-on-metal/
That writing boot camp sounds cool, maybe that’s what I need.
It has been a great one Mike so many experiences to just be happy and free with no attachments. Thank you for the link I’m going to check it out. Book bootcamp was exactly what I needed to light the fire under my ass and get my book into a what if to I can stage. I can send you info if you’re interested. ?
That would be great, please send me the info. I hope you like my post.
I will do that by the end of the week. I just have to get my information together after another sleep deprived night. Off to read your post now, glitchy WordPress app wouldn’t let me last night. ?
I have 15lb loss envy. Especially this week while I’m banged up and have to rest! I had SUCH plans to get back to boxing and really GO for it! Well done you for doing so well π
Sounds like you shared a beautiful moment with your youngest on the golf course. It’s really lovely to read about you nurturing his interests that way π
It was a lot of work with all my fitness challenges and slipping it up and working on a detox. I’m happy with my accomplishments but I’ve figured out the fitness formula 50 % is what you create in the kitchen and 40 % exercising and 10 % is devoting to rest and relaxation. Golf is my metaphor for life: keep your eye on the ball and have a slow and steady swing and you will reach your goal! Sending you wishes of good health soon. ?
Thanks. I forsure need to get better before I start thinking about more (sensible) weight loss! I cook healthily, I exercise plenty…I hopefully only need a couple of tweaks. And maybe more sleep π
More sleep and rest and relaxation are the keys to building a better body, mind, and spirit. You have the foundation built now it’s up to your body to communicate the message. ?
I hate sleeping cos I feel I miss out. That’s always my problem.
I’ve been diagnosed with insomnia since I was 13. Now it’s suspected I have sleep apnea like my son so we both need to be tested. Sleep has always be a luxury to me, when I get too much I want more. When I don’t get enough all I think about is getting a “sleep fix”. It’s my horocrux (spelling?) in life I swear, I understand JK Rowling’s mind when she wrote of true power. ?
Ohhh good grief what a nightmare!
I like naps. I take naps. But sleep at night is a pain in the butt.
I adore naps they’re like stepping into a magical world where fairies dance on my pillow. Night time is the time for overthinking, tucking in my kids, soaking in my hot tub till I fall into bed in sheer exhaustion. Morning is never welcomed as I’m still trying to catch up on a moon beam and a star. ?
I remember a very plaintive whine from a child once – I don’t remember if it was written in a book, or in a cartoon, or what…but it said “My mummy’s a bad mummy because she puts me to bed when I’m not tired and wakes me up in the morning when I AM!” and I always thought that was very ME!
Oh that’s so cute because I get that sentiment too! I was what my Mama called a proverbial night owl in the evening, and a nightmare in the morning. ?
THAT’S MEEEEE (I went to bed at 5am, even though I knew I had to be up at 8, because I WAS HAVING FUN!!!)
Yes!!! My poor Mom had insomnia too and then I was born a sporadic sleeper. And now I’ve given birth to another one. ?
EEEEK! I know that I was a terrible sleeper as a baby. And a child. And now. I just hate hate hate missing out. I had a nap earlier on the coach home from London and I feel raring to go again haha
I feel the same way! I like to stay up and read and have that quiet in my day. My poor parents I didn’t sleep through the night till I was 6. And even then I would stay up as late as I could until exhaustion took over.
Yup yup yup. Been there, done that π Though these days I stay up online because my Murican friends are awake as I’m needing to go to bed – it’s not the healthiest ever…
Yes I get that you’re 8 hours ahead or we’re behind! I’m embarrassed to say I fell asleep until my contacts were glued to my eyeballs only to have missed your TTOT linkup! I thought I hit the done button before I power crashed on my couch. I posted it anyways because I’m still thankful for the week I had. ?
That publishing seminar sounds exciting – good for you trying something new and conquering fears!
Isn’t technology a bugger? I so hate when that sort of thing happens. Glad you’re here this week!
Oh yes the seminar was just what I needed to fast track me to my dreams. And yes I was cursing at every device I owned as nothing was working as it should. I really miss when I can’t be part of this linkup it’s where I feel at home. ?
Home is a good word for it – I love this group.
Yes I agree home is where my writing heart is at. The TTOT holds a special place in my heart. β€οΈ
