Friday’s Feats and Fails

It’s that time again when I have to recollect with my “Mommy dummy brain” what happened throughout my week. Well it was a blur my kids were sick, so I slept very little shuffling between their beds and the couch. But here we go, on with the show!

FEAT

I’m always so happy when the weekend comes it’s family movie nights and hockey time. I got to see my Captain’s first hockey game. I was so proud seeing him out there practicing all his skills. And even though his team didn’t win I got some great action shots of my little hockey player.

FAIL

The Captain is still very anxious so I’ll be taking him to see the Dr next week. Anything where he needs to do things himself (like get dressed for hockey) I do help him but he gets so angry and herds everyone out of the room. So I have to do my best to keep Mad dog away from him. I can’t handle the screaming matches that ensue between them so I feel like screaming myself. My hubby took him to hockey which is great because they can always have a chat about the Cap’s anger issues.

I managed to look after my kids between them both being sick it made the weekend fly by. So while they were resting I managed to get more laundry folded, dishes done, and catch a nap myself. Even though being sick really sucks there’s always lots of popcorn, tea, movies, and cuddle time. I even got to sleep in my bed 2 nights out 5 so that was a big bonus.

With the Captain being home from school we had lots of opportunities to talk. Mad dog got a bit jealous and didn’t understand I needed some one-on-one time with his big bro. So there was lots of jealous fits. He’s so used to having me to himself day in and day out. So it breaks my heart to see him hurting over sharing me. The Captain went back to school on Wednesday and they had outdoor day. So he came home even sicker which I wasn’t impressed about that. And the notice reminder I didn’t get from the teacher till he came home from school. He came out of school telling me got teased in gym class. With further investigation I found out he had also been hit by this kid that was picking on him. I saw red, and looked all over the playground for this brat! I know what this feels like, being bullied, and teased. I was that child and I’ll fight like hell for my sons to not have to endure what I went through…

While the Captain was home from school for a few days he had a big science project to work on. It was to build a homemade musical instrument out of recycled materials. So we came up with a guitar and the local orchestra will be using the instruments in their next performance. It was really fun to work on this project with him. As we learned a lot about sound projection and volume control. I’ll let you enjoy our awesomeness here.

I spent more time nodding off then being productive this week. So I was trying to get some work done, but time in front of the computer turned into a snooze fest. I’ll have to work extra hard tonight and tomorrow to catch up before my deadline. I work as a transcriptionist from home. It’s very fascinating work but being more of a “Mombie” than a Mom working I was an epic fail. I seriously can’t even make sense of my notes so that will have to be redone. Blah, blah, blah, this is where melodic violins start playing my pity party song. ?

FEAT

I had a situation happen where I was totally excluded from a group opportunity. I was so shocked and hurt I just left without a word to anyone. It was a great learning opportunity to show the Captain, that even adults act like mean kids.

I got everyone’s costumes ready to go. So my hubby’s Fred Flinstone, I’m Bat girl (or as the Mad dog calls me Bat Mom), the Captain’s a soldier, and the Mad dog is a dinosaur. So this brings us to Halloween and I’m sitting here rocking my costume and waiting for trick or treaters. The kids are out with their Dad, and I had my first Halloweener at 3 pm!!! I’m going to playing a new drinking game too for every Elsa princess I see I drink. Try it I’m sure it’s going to be fun. Come on trick or treaters my wine dippy cup hasn’t even been touched. ?? Happy Halloween dear readers may you get to partake in festivities and even not get to have half of your kids candy. ???????
